I am in my 35th year teaching. I teach in a high-poverty inner city school, and I have my finger firmly placed on the retirement button. My patience is mostly gone, and I am weary of all the non-teaching "experts" who give us staff development we are required to take, or administrators that have not been in the classroom in decades. I don't know how much longer I am going to do this, and I feel bad for those who are mid-career.
