I am in my 35th year of teaching, and by all outward signs, my career has been a success. Still, if I had to do it again, I would not. Why? An unappreciative public that nitpicks and whines constantly. I should have changed careers long ago and went into a field where my intelligence, drive, and dedication were more appreciated.
