I agree with what you are saying. We are constantly told to teach to the standard. The content is often up for grabs. Still, there is the ever-present ghost of NCLB and teaching to the standardized tests, all of which is tied to funding. And funding is, and probably always will be, the lifeblood of schools, not education.
