I agree. I have been on Medium for about 15 months and I got all 3 bonuses. That would not have happened a year ago. A year ago it was all a mystery to me. You know what I would like to see? A bonus (or bonuses) for Best New Writer of the Month, or something like that - to reward someone who is new and producing great stuff.
