How Presidential Elections Have Impacted My Life

They may have impacted your life in a similar way

Our country tends to get excited during presidential election years. Joe Biden isn’t even one year into his presidency, and already there are Trump 2024 flags hanging on people’s homes. Campaign signs from 2020 can still be found on some lawns. The presidential election is like no other election in our country. It is the only time we come together as a nation and cast ballots for the same office.

Some people get excited. Some get emotional. Many people feel like everything hangs on the outcome of that election, and the intensity leading up to Election Day is proof of that.

I used to feel like that. Then I looked around and gave it some thought. Just how have the past several administrations affected me personally? After examining the impact of these presidencies, here is what I found.

Bill Clinton

When Bill Clinton was running for president, he and his young wife Hillary stood in stark contrast to the elder Bush and his wife Barbara. They represented change, much the way people thirty years earlier viewed the candidacy of John Kennedy. They were young and exciting. They played music the younger voters could relate to.
