Excellent topic and well-written. I married a woman from Jamaica, and the blowback I got was not from her people, but from my own. I was cautioned to be careful, and that I should probably move to the city where "that kind of thing" is more accepted. We stayed married for 20 years. Our 24 year old son lives in Los Angeles, and I have no doubt he has experienced some of what you wrote when he dated "outside of his race," whatever the hell that means. Thanks for writing this.
