Excellent cautionary note. Stories from personal experience carry a lot of weight, but you are 100% correct in urging caution. There are lines I will not cross. I will not write about anyone I know without their consent. There are personal details I will not share about my life. I know where my line is. Like you, I urge other writers to know where those lines are.
