Donald Trump’s Prison

A life sentence in solitary confinement

There are a lot of people out there who want Donald Trump to go to prison. His 34 felony convictions alone would justify it. While it is not unheard of for someone convicted of a felony to be spared prison, more often than not, a felony conviction results in at least some prison time. Martha Stewart was only convicted of four felonies, and she served five months, followed by five more in home confinement.

I would love to see Judge Juan Merchan give an explanation for this with a straight face and tell us why 34 felonies do not earn a person any prison time. What possible explanation can there be? I would love to know.

I never thought for a moment that Trump would ever go to prison. I never thought he would be convicted in an impeachment trial either. Trump knows that the more lawyers he has, the less likely it is that he will go to prison. He wears down his opponent, in this case the court system, one appeal at a time, one motion at a time. I am sure it is exhausting to oversee any kind of court case in which Trump is involved.

He uses a similar approach to the IRS. His business dealings are so complicated, understanding what he owns and how much taxable income he receives from them is a modern-day Gordian Knot. Compounding this is his veritable army of…
