As an intellectual argument, you are right. The problem, however, is that the “other side” passes laws and enacts policies with very real consequences for the ones affected by them. For instance, if a woman wants an abortion and it has been made illegal, what difference does it make which side is right or wrong? If a desperate family is turned back at the border to face poverty and death, what difference does being right matter to them?
