An ancestor of mine made a similar but probably more important ride in Virginia in 1781. His name was Jack Jouett. It's an interesting story, but unlike Paul Revere, he didn't have a Longfellow to write a poem about him. Or as they say:

You're a poet

but you don't know it

But your feet show it

They're long fellows.
