Americans care first and foremost about personal convenience, with self-pity following closely behind. Americans do not want to be inconvenienced to think, research or make rational decisions. That takes too much time and effort. Witness the fact that Trump is even running for a second term. Self-pity has become almost a national past time, with (white) Americans blaming everyone but themselves for their current situation.
