After 34 years of teaching, I have to say I wish I had quit after a couple years to build my resume. Looking back, I wish I had gone in a different direction to pursue something that is more financially rewarding and is less verbally abused by the public. When my son sought my advice on what to go into in college, I told him to go into anything but teaching. There are many good jobs in education. It’s a shame teaching isn’t one of them.
