Affordability isn't the reason we don't have Universal Basic Income. The REAL reason we don't have it is because then people will be a little less desperate and a little less willing to work for shit wages offered by multi-billion dollar corporations like Home Depot, Menards, Walmart, etc and the mom and pop shops that pay $10 per hour. They need people to be desperate enough to take whatever job they can get and whatever our overlords will pay.
