Absolutely. Incumbent congressional representatives are almost impossible to beat. They have the money, the name recognition, and a relatively small number of people to pitch their campaign message to. In my district, which is one of the reddest in my state, there is not much point for a Dem to even run. The Republicans here outnumber the Dems probably 4 to 1, and if the GOP ran a cockroach for Congress, it would win.
