A Writing Experiment for Medium
You have been warned
Like just about everyone else on Medium, I have experienced a total meltdown in views, claps, and most of all, earnings. A recent piece of mine that I spent about three hours writing netted me 76 cents, which breaks down to about 25 cents per hour.
McDonalds and other fast food chains would be jealous if they knew that was all I was being paid for three hours of work. They have to pay their workers significantly more.
In my subtitle I warned anyone reading this that this piece is purely an experiment. There is no real topic here. I am mostly just rambling to get words on a page so that I can publish it as quickly as possible. If you don’t want to continue reading, this would be a good time to close it out and find something more constructive to do with your time.
If you decided to stay, thank you. You will be helping me with my little experiment. You see, Medium has long made it a point of saying they want quality work. This rambling piece is clearly not that. There really isn’t even a topic. You aren’t going to learn anything. There will be no epiphanies that will arise. It won’t even be that entertaining. These are seriously just random words on a page.
