A lot of vets are homeless because of mental health issues (PTSD, etc) and making the transition to civilian life isn't easy for many. There isn't much individuals can do other than vote for politicians who will support funding programs to help get them the help they need. Affordable housing is a problem. Once a person is on the street, it is almost impossible for them to find a job or even receive government benefits because they have no mailing address. It is a complicated issue to be sure.
