2 years ago I interviewed for a summer school teaching position. In the interview I told them I had taught the exact class they were hiring for many times. It was an interdisciplinary English/social studies class. I discussed the books and the curriculum in detail. With over 30 years experience, who would be better qualified? I don't know, but they got the job. I sure didn't. My guess is this young assistant principal hired a much younger, better looking female teacher who had at least the minimal qualifications. I just received a letter several weeks later that thanked me for applying, but they found someone "better suited."
